This incident caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
